Only 12 more days...

Here's what I did this weekend!

Friday night, Abby and I were supposed to go to a movie with our tico brother. But while we were walking and trying to get a taxi, he told us about this place on the fourth floor of a hotel where you could look out over all of heredia and see all the city lights. So we went there instead. Turned out to be a bar with live music. It was really fun, because all of the people in the bar knew the words to the songs the guy was playing, so everyone was singing really loud in Spanish. I had a really good time!

Saturday we took a horribly long drive (around 6 hours) to Monteverde. We stopped by the ocean (Pacific!) on our way there to try a Costa Rican snowcone and do some haggling at the little stands there. The snowcone was disgusting, btw. They add powdered milk to it. Yuck! But I did buy a really cool Costa Rican photo album, some pretty jewelry, and a couple gifts for people back home. Great prices once I argued enough, too!

Once we got to the mountains of Monteverde, after the killer bumpy road, we just spent the evening eating, shopping, and passing the time watching the Costa Rica - Grenada soccer game at a bar. Smirnoff ice is good. And a cheerleader beer. I know.

Sunday we ate breafast at the hotel and then took a short drive higher up in the mountains to Sky Trek. When there we suited up and went on 9 ziplines (count 'em. Nine.) over the rainforest/jungles of Costa Rica. Beautiful and fast! Right after that we took a long drive home, stopping along the way to take pictures of the gorgeous tree-covered mountains and a couple monkies chilling in the trees by the road.

And now it is Monday. School day again. I have a new teacher, and I don't know if I like her or not. Her name is Ana. My teacher from the last two weeks, Monica, was more fun and cute, but I guess I'll be ok. I'm just bored of school and very homesick.

This weekend we're going to Manual Antonio beach to RELAX all weekend. White sand and clear blue water. I can't wait!

The plural of "monkey" is not "monkies." Are you trying to be funny? Because it's not working.

I'm tired and mean right now. Grr.
